Help me get the bones right, foundation planting help (zone 5)

Need opinion/ideas regarding foundation plantings for our new house. This is the north side of the house, so not tons of sunshine. The soil is well drained. I drew in the stone walkway.

The suggestions I have rec'd to date are to use a couple of Ilex Glabra Shamrock to obscure the meter, then use Clethra Hummingbird, and Viburnum Cassinoides as the other foundation plantings. The blue circle I drew in is where my husband wants to plant a Korean Fir.

Are these good choices for foundation plantings for this space?

Other ideas are Fothergilla, GIngko Goldspire, Andromeda, Witch Hazel, maybe a Weeping Spruce?

I would love to hear your ideas.
