Help - gap between cabinets

Hi - we are supposed to be nearing the end of what has been an exhaustingly long kitchen reno. We’ve identified several mistakes made by our designers (some as simple as room mis-measurement) that have caused several delays.

on the lower cabinets we realized there was another measuring problem that resulted in an unnecessary filler piece and now the drawers are being widened. My husband and I just looked at the uppers (above same spot) and realize there is another 3.5” filler piece and gap under the cabinets that isn’t showing on our plans. Is this another error by the designer? I’ll find out tomorrow when I call but I’m trying to figure out if I’m now just looking for mistakes or if this is valid.

Is it reasonable to be extremely upset that I’ve already had to pay an electrician to remove cabinet lighting in a defective upper box and now I may need to rip out more? is the designer responsible? Please help. I’m more than frustrated and just want this to be RIGHT!

Diagrams and pictures are required to assess anything. Hopefully the elevations and floor plan were signed off on by all parties?

Did your designer specialize in kitchen design or outsource the CAD drawings? Some fillers are necessary to open doors and appliances properly but if it's a mistake by the designer on the design, then they should fix the problem without charge to you.

She specialized in CAD drawings but made two measurement mistakes on the wall. we purchased inset cabinets so the filler piece isn’t symmetrical on either side. I could’ve chose an asymmetrical corner cabinet and now it’s so skinny I can barely fit anything in. Plus if you look underneath there is a 3.5” gap - should that be there?

I don't see the photos so not sure about the gap. Everyone makes mistakes but a good designer will own her mistake and correct. She should have the cabinet remade in my opinion

Sorry my photos will not load. Basically if you look underneath there is a 3.6” gap between the corner and next full cabinet. It just looks...wrong. I will approach it tomorrow. Thanks!
