Are you quilting this weekend? Oct. 12-13

Hello Quilters! Are you quilting today? I spent the afternoon in my sewing room putting together blocks. I made lots of flying geese earlier in the summer and am now getting them sewn into blocks. It is a pattern and fabric from a Frivols box that was given to me. Each block has 30 geese. I need to make borders and put everything together. If I can muster up some energy I will go back upstairs and work on it this evening.

On Tuesday we have our Featherweight Club again. It is 9-3 at the library. I need to find a project to sew with my FW machine. I'm thinking I will take more finished blocks and join them for an Honor Flight quilt.

For my birthday last Monday, my DD gave me a jelly roll and a quilt pattern to make a Christmas quilt. The pattern is Tree Lot by Cosy Quilt. I really want to start it but feel I must finish some other quilts first.

The Tree Lot is cute, Linda (Happy Birthday). Will your trees be in reds?

I made 5 CI skillet handles today and I'm getting close to having the Orphan Barn RBR done. I put what I thought would be the last row on it and decided it should be longer. I'd like it to end up about 60 by 75/80 so placed some heart blocks from a BOM I've been making at the top and the bottom and think I'll go that way. Then, will need a border....of some sort.

Linda, I know we need to be thinking about Christmas, but I'm just not ready.

Theresa, the heart in the one barn helps pull the other hearts together.

So far I've cut apart the heart strips. Tomorrow after church I really need to go shopping for some fall tops. So maybe after that I can start quilting or sew together the strip quilt.

Cute barn quilt, Sharon!

Yesterday hubby and I cleaned the house. But I did work on two projects, a hand-pieced block and some crocheted squares.

Today my goal is to piece the backing and make the binding for a king size top that’s been in the closet for three years! So far I’ve gotten through ironing eight yards of fabric and calculating my cutting sizes. And I just finished three loads of laundry. :)
