Did anyone refinish their floors or paint/ do major work in your home or building?

Did you wash something that had been exposed to gasoline? Or did the odor erupt spontaneously?

Fume emissions from paints / varnishes / wood stains affect dryers, not so much washers.

What is the baking soda/ vinegar route? Have you ran several hot, really hot wash cycles since?

Try burning a candle in the laundry room. The candle should burn off the VOC's--will still stink--but the odor should then dissipate.
