Paint colors for south-facing mid-unit townhome

We're trying to pick paint colors for our new house. It's a mid-unit townhouse, so it doesn't get a ton of sunlight. The back den/kitchen is north-facing and doesn't get any direct sunlight. Since you can see almost every room from one end of the house to another, we want the color/colors we choose to complement each other and we're trying to find something that can make it look as light and airy as possible, but we don't want just boring white.

I'm thinking maybe something along the lines of Benjamin Moore Seahorse throughout the entire space. It will look different in different rooms and times of the day. And then maybe painting the kitchen something else. I like gray, but I'm not sure it would go with Seahorse. The cabinets in the kitchen are a little yellow-ish, so I don't want to go too light. I'd like them to look white in contrast to whatever color we paint the kitchen. Have yet to paint up swatches of seahorse to see what I think.

I'm not used to choosing paint colors in such a space. Does anyone have a townhome with a similar setup who can share their solution? Thanks!

The photos are from before we bought it. We put white bookshelves along the wall in the dining room (the east wall, the one with the art on it.) And in the den, we put our tv on the wall where the couch is in the photo. We got an oversized medium gray sectional and put it on the wall opposite the TV, on the same wall as the staircase. I'll try to update this with new photos of the space we're working with now but the house is currently a mess :)
