which flooring please ?

Hi

We are having a new floor fitted next to this parquet. I’m not sure which one to go with . The wall colour will be drop cloth , so do I go with contrast or a similar shade to dropcloth ? I like warm colours hence the similar floor and wall colour ! Thank you

That’s the dropcloth sample which the tiles are sitting on ...

I’ve also got de nimes on a backsplash , white gloss cabinets and a charcoal worktop thrown in. I’m thinking the Warmer the better ?

This is the mandarin stone in industry sand which is also an option as I think it will help warm up the de nimes and the white kitchen ? Help ! Thanks

I would go for the far bottom one. It will not only visually make the space look larger than it is but also give you the opportunity to add in darker/contrasting decor over the years making it a classic style.

I would go with the second tile on the drop cloth colour as it's a nice match to the wall colour and also has a bit of movement in the tile.

Sorry do you mean the tile which lies in the middle of the sample - the mid grey one ? Thanks

Art and design attic do you mean the one right at the bottom of the three lined up in a row next to the parquet, which is a light tile ? Sorry , I should have made it clearer when positioning them. It seems neither if you like the darkest which I thought you would have gone for !

Is this circled one the one you both mean ? So sorry.

I think I prefer the one above it - would this be ok ? It’s slightly warmer and would look better with de nimes I think which I also have nearby

My vote goes to the top or middle tile tbh, even I was painting another colour in the future their the ones I’d like to be using as a base colour! Would like to see a full size tile in them before committing though! A full tile can so change your opinion.

    Hi beano

Do you mean on this photo the top of middle ? I will after reading your reply get a full size you’re absolutely right. I’m so surprised no one thinks a contrast is best ? I thought that was number one design rule - but then I’m not an Interior designer .... thanks

The top one or the middle one, id probably lean towards the middle but I’d need to see them all in full tiles, I’ve similar to the middle one in my house, near a concrete look to it!

I'm not a designer so I don't follow any rules, personally I prefer the contrast with the darkest sample. The other two are too close in shade to the parquet for me, my general preference is for light colours but I like the dark contrast.

I too like the first two paler ones. Lovely, neutral warm shade that will marry with so many other shades.

I like the contrast as it’s more striking but agree that the top two lighter shades would be calmer and make the space feel bigger. As art and design attic said, I can always add darker accessories. Thanks really appreciated.

They'd all contrast nicely with a white kitchen. I would go with the darkest myself.

All different opinions !! keep Them coming if you can ! I’m worried the lighter ones will be too Insipid but as I’ve got f and b de nimes in there they go well with de nimes. I’m still undecided though !!

The second tile should look very good with this color of wood. Good Luck!
