Many Echinopsis need a cool dry winter to get good flowers in spring summer. Do you keep it warm and cozy with lights during the winter?

I try my best to keep my RQ protected from winter rain by putting it up against the house., but it does stay outside all winter long. Right now it’s 41F and it’ll probably drop down to 36F tonight. I will throw a frost cloth over it before I go to bed. One of my least fav things to do btw. Going around in the cold at night quickly throwing frost cloths over things. I know you can’t put yours outside, but is there somewhere you can put it for three months where it’s cool around 45F?

When it starts to warm up again give it a little fertilizer too.

Thanks dbareon and Kara. It was kept very dry last winter but temps were maintained at around the high 60s as It is in be finished basement Sitting next to the furnace. It all makes sense now. I’ll try to move it next to the basement window where it can possibly cool down to mid 40s. every Day I learn something new.

It's really all very simple, just think what the plants (any plant) environment in nature is. Duplicate that..and you're golden.
