Can a matte/leather granite go with a polished marble backsplash?

I am set on the blue dunes granite and love the look and feel of it matte leather. I have left over white/grey/cream marble subway tiles from previous home that I want to use to save money. I was wondering if a matte granite would appear less formal (if makes sense) combined with the formal marble tile. The last photo of the granite is darker than actual.

You're at an advantage since you have the materials on hand to look at them together. It's generally recommended to keep similar finishes to help tie a room together, but you can always branch out if you like the look.

Oh my gosh! What did you end up with? We just installed our blue dunes leathered countertops today! I absolutely love it but have serious question about backsplash.

Ended up with the grey marble. I understand not perfect and don’t care what others think. The gloss is easier to clean versus my thought to do stone.
