They're both beautiful, just not together. They clashing in just about every way- tone, color, pattern, style etc. Pick your counter top first, THEN the backsplash. if you're going for that granite select a simple, solid colored warm tile like a cream or beige.

Thanks for the ideas! I just want to use that backsplash since I already owned it from a previous project. The granite is actually lighter in person but somehow way more brown in the picture. More pastel coloring.

It clashes horribly. You have to vote one off of the island. If you keep the backsplash, you can’t use that counter. You need a more solid quartz with it.

Don’t be penny wise and pound foolish over $300 worth of tile here. The $1800 install labor for the professional tiler is where the big expense will be. Sell it on Craigslist.

Agreed with the rest. Love them separately, not so much together. If you must use the tile, shop for a solid colored countertop. Quartz and Corian would work. Or sell the tile, install the granite and shop for an entirely different bs altogether.

Might be a little busy, but at the end of the day. It's your kitchen! I think both materials are beautiful, personally I would go with a subway style backsplash, white or even black, for an extra pop of style, the beveled subway tiles are awesome.
