I like the mirror idea or you could treat them like just part of the wall space. Paint trim around them same as wall color, replace knobs with something that blends in and hang some artwork on them.

I have the same problem with closets door in 2 bedrooms. Does anybody know if you can turn doors that open with hinges into sliding doors by changing the hardware? I need help too

If they arent hollow, I would either paint/wallpaper the doors and trim same as the wall or remove the trim altogether. I would then treat them like an extension of the wall and hang a large piece of art on each one.

A competent carpenter can change the existing doors into bypass doors. This will involve reducing the overall width of the opening by a very few inches...it will be well worth the cost.

My personal approach would be to have the closet doors match the room doors, whether that be painted white or stained wood. Mirrored closet doors work in some spaces but I am too old for that...mirrors show love handles and wrinkles as well as reflect light. However, I would agree to mirrored doors if they are around
a corner and not directly in the main part of the room.

I happen to like to use the inside of closet doors as additional storage space which knocks out bifolds and sliders for me. I might mount a shoe rack or hang scarves and jewelry on the back of the door.

Converting them to sliders is doable though bi-fold is the way to go IMO. Whatever you decide to do, don't frame/trim them if you don't want them to stand out...

I have dressed up many of the doors in my home by adding molding to the front. I have also added the trim that goes around the top of a chandelier to door fronts. The chandelier trim is a fast and easy solution.
