New Counter Install - Inside Radius Opinion

We have a u shaped kitchen and had LG Muse quartz counters installed a week ago. We have one seam at the peninsula corner (which we expected). My issue is that we now have two inside corners that do not match - one has a curved radius and the other a sharp 90 angle. Is this common? I called the installer the next day and we have been going back and forth about how to resolve this.

Without the close up I would have missed it too.

In my kitchen with LG Minuet they put one seam behind sink where the faucet is. Only I know it’s there. Too bad this wasn’t discussed before install.

You can risk them trying to grind the left side to match the sight side and risk cracking the stone and starting all over again.

There have been many threads here of pieces not matching after install and you have not brought that up so I am assuming all pieces match. That is a plus.

I honestly would leave it alone. The OCD in me would be upset for a while but being in this business we have learned to let certain things go.

No job is a perfect job.

You have 2 options and you can ask for a partial credit so next time they think twice about doing this to another customer or at the very least discuss with client so THEY can make the choice.

Good luck. Looking good so far.

What backsplash of the ones you have on the counter are you choosing?

The LG slabs are not wide enough to cover the length of the peninsula and the width to the back of the sink. Our salesperson did not mention this until after templating. If we had known this was a possibility we would have picked a different quartz manufacturer. This is our first kitchen reno (and with no designer) so we never thought to consider layout before picking a surface. Lesson learned!!

Thank you ttats and patricia - I appreciate the comments. I really don’t want to risk them ruining the “good” corner in an effort to make it match (which is what they are suggesting).

Enjoy your beautiful kitchen. As everyone has said, no one will notice or care about the corners. Be careful however with depth of the drawer pulls since your DW has to open. You don't want scraped knuckles.

Beautiful cabinets! I am planning a remodel, and will be certain to speak to contractor about seam behind faucet.

Felipe - they have offered a credit (appx 15% of total cost) in addition to squaring the corner, so we will definitely take them up on the credit. Regarding the tile, we are considering these 2 options. The crackled gray is really beautiful, but we are leaning towards the white since our lower cabs are already gray.

I am a fabricator. IMHO it's a mistake. At a minimum the fabricator should've reviewed this with you up front and given you the option of matching corners. That said, it's unlikely anyone not in the countertop business would ever even notice. 15% is a generous discount.

Squaring the rounded corner to match will void the warranty.
