You have a very nice home!

The only thing I see that is missing is landscaping. I see one row of new plants, but you could have larger beds with a variety of plantings.

Please take the time to post in the landscape forum. There are some awesome people there that can help you with a landscaping plan for your home.

I wouldn't add shutters or window boxes at all to your lovely home.

I agree with Denita. Landscaping will be the solution and will amplify the basic charm that already exists with your home.

I agree that landscaping with larger sized and varied plants are really needed to set off your 'diamond' of a house. Don't discount the idea of wood or metal trellis to hold up flowering vines like Bleeding Heart and Roses.

Plant colorful things around the base of the trees. Use some boulders in the garden areas. Let the foundation plantings grow larger and add some variety. Trees will add height: place them in locations where they will be able to grow to mature size without overhanging the roof or blocking windows. If the anticipated diameter of a mature tree is fifteen feet, plant it at least twelve feet from the house.

Please don’t add any shutters. Your house looks really nice. The lines are so simple and clean.

More substantial/colorful porch furniture. It looks too diminutive for the area.

I would not add shutters or window boxes. Neither would go with your home. If you want a to change something maybe paint home a different color or a unexpected color on your front door. Maybe some colorful large sized pots on your porch. But I think your house is charming just the way it is in the bright white. What color is the ceiling of your porch. Maybe paint a light sky blue and paint some planters the same color.

Agree with prior posts. Your house is lovely. All it needs is landscaping and a little better furniture staging and arrangement on your porch.

Hey there! If you do consider shutters, might we suggest bifold shutters? For larger-sized windows with limited space in between for shutters, these are a great option. Here are some options from our customers in the past:

I’d be inclined to bring the front planting beds forward a bit, in an irregular shape. Also consider “ connecting” the 3 large trees foreground, right side, with a free form shaped (like a kidney bean, yet more pronounced) planting bed. If it is shady there, a goundcover like pachysandra mixed with hosta & ferns would be lovely. Get referrals for a landscape architect or designer to contact for assistance - they will, or at least should, know what plants are appropriate for your location as well as low maintenance if that is a priority.

A little landscaping and some lovely wicker furniture outside . Use those chairs on the porch around table in the back or side terrace or in front of your kitchen . But not in the front . .. There you need to have more charm ....wicker ..could do that for you .

Some major landscaping and much larger pieces for porch. Big rockers would help! Maybe paint the window panes black. Really like the house, has lots of potential!
