Bedroom Layout and Feng Shui

Ok I need help from any Feng Shui experts out there! We are drawing up plans for our new build and wondering if our current flow of our bedroom layout and master hall is fine.

According to Feng Shui, the door into a bedroom shouldn’t be in direct alignment to the bed and doors shouldn’t be directly aligned either. Breaking one of the those rules with the master door and patio door being aligned with this layout and although the doors into master bed aren’t perfectly aligned, it’s kind of in direct view of the doors. Thinking privacy might be an issue.

I should mention though that the patio door off the master hall won’t be used much since we have a set of French doors off the living room. Just want the flow to be good.

any advice/suggestions?

I’m not nit sure how much feng shui governs placement of light switches, but where will yours be? Behind the double doors? Or on the outside wall, that is, the bedroom light switch in the gallery, the bathroom lightswitch on the bedroom side of the doors? You might consider single doors instead to make your life easier, that is, better.

I don’t think the ‘gallery’ is the bedroom. The door to the room is the double door. But it looks like the foot of the bed will face the entry.

Didn’t even think about the light switches, you make a good point @bpath! I wouldn’t want to have to turn around behind the door to turn on the lights. hmm...single door might be a better option.

thinking privacy issues might be a problem if the patio door is in direct alignment to the master doors, so thinking french doors off the back wall instead and closing off the patio door where it’s at now? thoughts? that would be a better flow Feng Shui wise I believe

What is the privacy issue? Who will be on your patio when you are in the bedroom? And they’d have to be pretty close to the patio door and make an effort to look in.

Have you placed imaginary furniture in the living room? I’m curious what furniture you have, and how it will be laid out to accommodate walking to the bedroom and opening the patio door, as well as feng shui.

I’m also curious if you have done an imaginary walkthrough of the master suite, getting out of the house in the morning, getting or putting away a sweater or something during the day, even using the bathroom unless you would usually use the powder room.
