Do you have any space on any other wall in the room for shelving? I'm short, so I wouldn't want the corner shelves - they'd need to be placed too high up to accommodate the lid, etc. Instead, I'd build shelving under the window, between the washer and dryer, to hold the laundry soap. Also, add hangers for brooms on side wall.

It's a small space, and directly in front of the washer is the space for the door to open against a wall there. I like the idea of shelves between the W&D. I'll look into that. Yes, definitely a wall hanger for brooms! Thank you, Sammie J :)

How about one or two (stacked) Besta frames attached to the wall above the washer, placed high enough to allow the washer lid to open. You could equip the frames with shelves and (optionally) door fronts. My toilet is in an alcove and I hung a Besta frame with a glass shelf, and Glassvik frosted-glass door above it to hold toilet paper and other bathroom stuff.

Nothing between the Wand D they need to sit together for the best function I think there is not spot above them for anything so probably the best is a cabinet on that wall beside the window. If you post a picture of the whole space maybe another solution would be possible. Hook ups can be reconfigured so maybe look into that too.

I would add shelving there for detergents and other laundry items —or something to hang the brooms etc too. If you do have a small slim space between machines; get one of those slim roll out organizers too.

I added laundry wall art on mine ( project I did) and bought shelving as have the space for it.

At 5'2", I wouldn't be able to reach shelves above your open washer ;0) I'm lucky to have built ins in my 1955 laundry that someone actually put some thought into.

But had you considered or seen something like this laundry supply rolling shelf unit...

Little bit of searching and you may find it in a color complimentary to your laundry room if not the color of your machines so it 'disappears'.

The best investment for my laundry was a holder for mops/brooms. Looks like you need one too.

How much laundry soap etc. do you need to store at the washer? Could most of it go in another cabinet? A simple 6" wide shelf for everyday detergent in a standard size (the kind you pour, not the 1-gallon size with the dispenser spout) could be installed at a height convenient for you. Space for mops to hang below.

There are no other cupboards in the space, and we'll be doing some more remodeling, so I'll probably end up getting the rolling cart that slides between the w&d for now until we can have cupboards built. And yes, definitely a mop and broom organizer. I appreciate your input!

You could also use some space for a folding step stool next to the washer and dryer. It would enable you to reach higher shelves quickly. Narrow shelves (one bottle deep) are much more useful than deep shelves when it's hard to see behind things on shelves over your head.

The shelves are easily removable if any work needs to be done to the appliances and you can get different width/length shelves in white or wood finishes. They also hold up to 125 pounds, more than enough for your Laundry needs.
