Hey, I just bought this west elm Andes storage bed. I really liked the design and the look when I was shopping at one of their stores. I ordered a king size and when it arrived, I realized that it was REALLY heavy! Its 400+ lbs for bed frame only, because of the 4 drawers (seems that they are made of solid wood). We have a mattress of 150 lbs, including our body weight, and the stuff we are putting into the drawers, it can easily hit 900 lbs!

I’m seriously concerned about whether this weight will affect the floor and/or the structure of the house through out the years, as this is on the 3rd floor. Also, the metal legs are so thin, is it going to hold up long? Will it damage the carpet?

I have a few days to decide whether to keep this bed. Any opinions will be appreciated. Thanks a lot!
