muuto is a phenomenal danish design studio. the E27 pendant is a "bare bulb" but has oodles of colored silicone rubber options including a lengthy cord that lends itself to being hiked up so the bulb isn't in your eyes. alternatively, their pendant lamps with silicone shades are interesting and provide an authentic scandinavian design motif: https://muuto.com/lighting/e27-pendant-lamp

I also dislike being able to see the bulb in a light fixture. I found a beautiful light for my front hall (I lean to rustic/craftsman) for a phenomenal sale price, but it had a clear glass shade.

I bought it and frosted the shade with glass frosting spray. Problem solved.

Could try LED lighting with integrated LED array. No bulb at all.

The bare bulb pendant trend is persistant. There are plenty of us out there who are not impressed with this look, but it‘s almost impossible to find a pendant with a diffuser or one that is closed at bottom with bulb access from top. I hope the lighting designers move on to something better and more inspired.
