I love it, too. Those look just like the ones I got from Amazon. I had bought 2 sets of charms, one with the warm colors and one with the cool colors. I love both. You know, a multi-colored stripe would make a good binding for that.

If only I had a stripe.... I plan to hit the LQS tomorrow for something else, will look for that too.

Rita, The bundles I had were marked Sunshine for the bright pack and Shade for the darker one.

I love that. I'd bind it in a blue batik to closely match those blue blocks. It's really pretty.

The best piece I could find in my bins was a blue but there wasn't enough of it. Will look tomorrow.

Your quilt top turned out beautifully, Theresa. It seems like only yesterday that you were planning it. Well, it was practically yesterday - only five days ago. You certainly are being productive. I haven't done a stitch since December.

Lois, if I were where you are, there would be no stitching either.

I find that if I really like the pattern and/or the fabric, I stick to it. A few days before this was started, I did some cutting for another quilt and that is as far as it got. I couldn't settle on a pattern and the fabric wasn't singing to me.

Oh, Theresa, that's lovely! I'm with Bkay on the KF fabrics, they have never been my favorite, but they look fantastic in your quilt! I may have to look at them again, lol! I found some fall colored 5" precut squares that appeared out of nowhere (I'm sure I bought them some time ago but I can't remember). That pattern would be perfect for them! Thanks for sharing!

You did a GREAT job, I really like it, has a nice energy to it. While I often like some KF fabrics, I need to use a bit of solids when I use them or it's too much for me. Your use of the white balances things beautifully.

An offbeat idea: must all 4 sides be the same color?

If not, what abt maybe blue batik bindings along the vertical & maybe a pair of red /fuscia batik bindings along the horizontal?

I'd sooner try my suggestion above, as I think scrappy bindings, while fun, in this case would detract from the beautiful rhythm going on in the piece. OR

Bind 2 sides each around their right angle, like the NW corner, using upper & left vs. the SE corner using the lower & right side? I think this idea would also accommodate not having enough fabric, & frame/ bind it w/out distracting from the inner work.

I managed to squeak out some sewing time last week and was able to get ‘er done. I found a good blue at the quilt store. And I did some extra quilting in the white squares rather than the straight line through the chains.

Quite by accident, I found a youtube video from Laundry Basket Quilts with this very pattern. Hers was called Cranberry Chain and she used creams and a red. Very pretty. And I had previously been thinking I might do this pattern again using some soft floral I have. It would look completely different. And if Edyta Sitar can do it, so can I!!

It's lovely, Theresa! The blue binding is perfect. I like the quilting in the white squares.

My chemo quilts are always backed with flannel.

Thanks, I've never felt flannel on a quilt back yet, but I'd guess the flannel makes it extra cozy.
