We are considering buying a 1 acre property that has a sizeable pond on it (about the size of an average size manmade swimming pool length wise, maybe a bit smaller, but only a couple feet deep). We would want to remove the pond immediately - we want to use that space as a green area that kids can play on and could perhaps be built on in the future. This is in addition to concerns we have with bugs/mosquitos, alligators and other maintenance issues (we are in South Florida). Outside of permits and government approval for the process, we have no idea what a ballpark estimation would be for removal of the pond and then filling it with soil (or whatever the proper mixture of materials would be). Does anyone have any ideas? Are there companies that specialize in this? Thanks in advance!
