Help with under watered Japanese Maple

I was away for a week and half and was supposed to have a neighbour water my maple, but It didn't end up happening. Thus when I came back, the leaves on it were curled and dried up. I watered it but am not sure what to do next? Any information would be greatly appreciated! The maple is in a well draining pot and is east facing on a balcony.
