I would paint them the same color as the walls. I'm of the belief that:

1. When the walls are the same color as the door, the area looks bigger.

2. Don't bring more than two colors into an area (except for trim).

Let's hear what others say.

Like the doors and rail and built ins and floor all wood, however, IF a "lighter" look appeals to you, then first paint the built in cabinets/drawers the same white as the trim color. IF that doesn't lighten up the space as much as you like, then paint the doors the same white as the trim color.

Would NOT paint either the built ins or the doors the wall color.

I think they look wonderful, as is. I would not paint them. I like Suezbell's suggestion to paint the cabinet lighter.

eta: I should have written what a nice space that is. I would smile every time I walked through it.

I would first paint the linen cabinet and drawers white to match the trim. Then I would wait six months before making a decision to paint (or not) the doors. The floors, doors and stair rail match, but the dark doors will be too much brown for half of us. I would also add runner rugs along those walkways/hallways and add more art (love the cow portrait) on the walls.

You have the real deal farmhouse and your paint colors and decor give it a nice modern touch. Please don't paint those lovely doors. I am undecided about the linen cabinet, but think it could use something. Maybe glass panels in the doors and paint the whole thing white?

I agree also to paint built in cabinet and drawers and leaving the doors. I feel the stained wood doors are classic farmhouse look. The door casings are lovely and the doors draw attention to them!

Any guesses as to the stain color? There are areas I need to touch up
