Annie, so glad you liked your package. I am glad everything arrived safely. The succulents here in the Northeast don't grow as large as they do in sunny CA. I told the sedum as I was packing them up that they were so lucky they were going to have a great life in the sun in California and they would thank me in February when it's below freezing in Ohio, lol.

I was hoping you would like the solar boot fairy house. It seemed fun and whimsical and reminded me of you and your fun personality.

Enjoy your little garden and have a great rest of your day! It was great swapping with you this month too Annie!!! Be well.

Awesome little house Annie. Really absorbed the sun. I’m a solar power item collector. I really like the stuff.

Weather has turned wonderful. Having bad knee problems but I’m still doing the things I love but am paying for it the next day. Tylenol and ibuprofen aren’t really helping much. I’m sure it’s arthritis. Anyone in my age group with issues have any suggestions. I will head to the doctor when I can’t take it anymore which may be soon. Just not comfortable going there.

I am enjoying seeing the items everyone is receiving for their little gardens. Susan B that is a cute package you received from Amy.

Annie, the house looks amazing all lit up at night -- adorable. So glad you like it! Thanks for posting the pic. I am looking into some solar fairy garden items for my garden too. It will be nice for when the grandkids come over and we roast marshmallows at night...it will be magical.

Margo, I have osteoarthritis is my knees that started when I was in my 20s. I really feel it when I overdo it. I find when I do more walking to strengthen my muscles I don't have as much pain when I do physical work like gardening, but for me it is hard to stay disciplined to walk every day.
My doctor told me to treat it just like a knee injury when I experience flair ups. I use the RICE method explained below. I also take some ibuprofen for a couple of days and I am usually good as new after that. I hope you feel better soon.

    • Rest. Rest and protect the injured or sore area. Stop, change, or take a break from any activity that may be causing your pain or soreness.
    • Ice. Cold will reduce pain and swelling. Apply an ice or cold pack right away to prevent or minimize swelling. Apply the ice or cold pack for 10 to 20 minutes, 3 or more times a day. After 48 to 72 hours, if swelling is gone, apply heat to the area that hurts. Do not apply ice or heat directly to the skin. Place a towel over the cold or heat pack before applying it to the skin.
    • Compression. Compression, or wrapping the injured or sore area with an elastic bandage (such as an Ace wrap), will help decrease swelling. Don't wrap it too tightly, because this can cause more swelling below the affected area. Loosen the bandage if it gets too tight. Signs that the bandage is too tight include numbness, tingling, increased pain, coolness, or swelling in the area below the bandage. Talk to your doctor if you think you need to use a wrap for longer than 48 to 72 hours; a more serious problem may be present.
    • Elevation. Elevate the injured or sore area on pillows while applying ice and anytime you are sitting or lying down. Try to keep the area at or above the level of your heart to help minimize swelling.

I received my package from Melinda today. She sent a cute fairy garden set and a well packed plant that I will put with it. Melinda, i could not find a note so wonder what the plant name is.

Thank you for the great package. Hubby and I are still not up to snuff. I believe it is food poisoning. Ugh.

Such cute fairy garden items! I have quite a few items here to make one, but the one time I made a fairy garden, the first hard rain we had totally wiped it out and I never got ambitious enough to put another one together. Perhaps one day I'll try again and place it on the front porch where it will have some shelter. The first one I made I placed on the deck which is uncovered and with the heavy rains we get, I don't believe I'll try that again.

The way my house is built, I don't have good indoor areas for plants. Anyone have suggestions?

Jeanne and Amy, that is a good point about the rain. Last year I had that same issue with the rain in my small fairy garden. I will make some adaptations this year.

    Congratulations Melinda!

Susan it was a wonderful swap. I loved the theme. Thank you for being a great hostess. I love all your lily pics. Mine are just starting to bloom.

Margo hope you and hubby are all well soon.

I have been talking with my granddaughters and they helped me decide on what kind of fairy garden to make. they found a wheelbarrow fairy garden and I have one on its last legs so I will repurpose it as my fairy garden. When we get heavy rains and storms I will be able to wheel it under the lanai. It will be great. They thought I should do a campground theme and that will be so perfect with the items Annie sent me. i Am so proud of my granddaughters they are so creative and think outside the box.
