MI in general is bottom of the barrel junk. Showcase vinyl more than likely is as well. Western is a quality product and or you may look into Don Young, another well regarded aluminum product. Personally I would steer clear of the box stores unless you are 100% set on what you want and do not need them to provide any more than product. Who is doing the install?

General contractor who is coordinating the renovation work will be doing the install.

He liked using Milgard but they aren't distributing to TX anymore since Covid, so we are trying to figure out a good alternative that isn't as costly as Western.

Store-wise, we were going through a window distributor who had the Western on display and is a MI dealer, but didn't have any of their doors on display or in the warehouse. The 100-series, which i did see, looked cheap, and the glass was very dark , but the specs look pretty different vs the 400's.

Thanks for the tip regarding Don Young - their quote was better than Western and looks like a good product from what I see online - I'm going to try and stop by the warehouse to see a sample, but limited access thanks to covid.

The PVC wrapped doors and windows are junk! The wrap chips and peels and exposes the white vinyl under the black cheap wrap. Avoid!
