Holes and spots make me think insects; closer images of the affected leaves and pictures of the dead plants might help with diagnosis.

The mushrooms are just happy to live in your mulch; they're not causing the issue.

Yes, I don't see anything that is dead or looks like it's dying. I do see some shothole damage, which is a common ailment of laurels (Prunus species). It can be both bacterial/fungal or cultural in origin but it is not really all that serious and is more cosmetic than debilitating. You would have to have a whomping big infestation to cause death!!

And a great deal of the issue can be resolved if you avoid using sprinklers or any overhead watering. Water at the root zone only.

Looks a lot like shot hole fungus (first pictures). The mushroom is the fruiting body of a common saprotrophic fungus in the Pezizaceae family.

It is harmless to plants. A saprotrophc fungus is a completely natural organism that lives off of dead organic matter (not live plant tissue). In this case, the mulch.

Attached is an emerald evergreen thats starting to die in the bottom side and also the other plants in question close up and a dead tree plus a close up of the fungus looking thing.

all arbs are brown inside.. it natural.. and inevitable ... and when a green part is pulled back.. you see the NORMAL interior browning ...

second.. when wood breaks down... it attracts all kinds of fungus/mushrooms/etc ... its the MULCH ... its eating/using the MULCH ... has nothing to do with the plants ...

yes.. something is bothering your laurel ... as noted in other replies .. they are not dying ... research and treat accordingly ...

if you dont find insects during the day.. dont forget to look after dark ....

We had voles and scale on our laurels. We ended up removing them. They just grew to large and needed more air circulation.

Listen to Ken....he's a wise gardener. It's a garden...it grows outside....there are birds and bugs and hail and wind. If you want perfect use plastic plants.
