I need to see it in relation to the house . I could very easily see pots in different heights filled with sun loving plants for sure.

A picture from far back is a good idea..and a feel for what you are looking for...to make it pretty or maybe just more useful..perhaps a little storage for deck maintenance items...?..do you want to preserve the view or light for the little window?..

Well we ended up leaving the little marble bistro table. It was a good perch for trays as we came and went from the back yard. I had two large clay spheres I put in the corner that looked fine with the paving stones and next to the planter. On an impulse I tossed one of those plastic pattered runners (6' long) in front of the door. It was a black white and tan pattern resembling tiles, that really looked quite charming. These ended up being simple but cute fixes. Thanks everyone for your thoughts.
