Bath tile for Taj Mahal countertop

We are redoing two baths, hall and master. I would appreciate any input you can offer. Both baths have the same cabinets. Both baths will have Taj Mahal quartzite counters.

I would like to use the porcelain wood tile by Cerdomus Ceramiche in walnut color (in both (5" x 40 or 10" x 40).

I would like to use the Panaria Flow, color Desert (12 x 24) laid in a subway style for the tub/shower area in the hall bath. I would also like to use the same Panaria tile, but cut into probably 12 x 12 and use a coordinating 2 x 2 mesh for the shower floor as well as inside a framed area on the main shower wall in the master bathroom. I would use the white (Bedrosians Traditions in biscuit) to cut the frame, most likely 2". For the walls in both, I am thinking about Behr Marquee in Creamy Mushroom. Thanks in advance

that subway tile is too creamy yellow. Taj is a cooler toned stone. more grays and cooler whites.

I wouldn't use anything yellow based. These do not really go together. for sure the yellow/peach tile doesn't

I personally think the "travertine-look" larger tile is too busy, will compete w/both flooring and the Taj, and quite frankly has had it's day.

I'd do something like this,, any of these look great w/taj. the mosaics would work on the shower floor and the niche or accent.

or, look at these for larger tiles for either your bathroom floor, or even the shower walls.

16x16 Terrazzo kashmir,, next one is Tilebar, 24x24 porcelain, matte limestone-look. (I love that tile)

Tilebar Cavatina is also nice. these come in a 12x24 size too. I'd use this or the one above, over that other tile you picked.

Do a 3x12 or 4x12 subway tile set in a stacked pattern.

Or this tile in a white or soft gray, also in this same layout.

are you dead set on the wood look tile in the bathroom? is this a rustic house?

is this the look you want w/your tile in the shower and the wood look tile?

I would use a solid porcelain tile for the bathroom floor, maybe in a herringbone. a darker, warmer gray would look nice. (or a soft white)

Or, this herringbone below would look killer on the floor, or even in the shower. Finland White wood tile at Floor and Decor.

that wood look tile looks nice in a bathroom that has more of a country feel. is your bathroom country style? I'd say no based on the style of that traditional vanity. the two styles clash. as do the different larger tiles you've chosen.

A Zellige tile would look amazing w/the Taj. it's here on the floor.

and doing a busy mosaic pattern inside of a busy larger tile, just looks busy. especially with all of the other busy tile (floors and countertop) you have.

Look at Cloe tile. they have a soft gray or a white that would be perfect w/Taj. Diff sizes and shapes too

what if you got Taj Majal tiles? You don't have to go to this extent, but they'd look nice on the floor or in the shower

Tajj Mahal and a wood porcelain anything on the shower walls is not a good look. Tile is too yellow as well as you have in photo.

Hard to tell your cabinet color as well......looks quite creamy yellow in one photo.

I think you are in over design, need to clarify the look and feel of the baths a bit. Taj Mahal may not BE the counter top you want.

that tile herringbone floor is nothing like the one you posted w/your combo choices. the one below isn't as rustic looking as the tile you've posted. plus, it's a lot lighter. If you want a wood-look tile like that, don't get one that leans too yellow/brown. your taj is a cooler grayish tone.

Maybe something like this one would work better. It's from Tilebar. Montana porcelain tile in the Chestnut color. 8x45.

Or, since you like the herringbone, try and find something like this one above. it's wood-look tile already designed to lay in a herringbone. The color is perfect w/the Taj, don't know about your vanity. This is a UK item, so i'm not sure where they have it here, you'd have to look.

I also put a Terrazzo tile here on the right. the color is perfect w/the vanity. I think Tilebar has these too.

for the shower, you could try this 18x36 one (Tilebar, Linden-White) and do a similar color mosaic for the shower floor. They also have this tile in a polished, or other colors (and you get 5 samples for $5)

Pick a different top. Please? Taj Is not the only slab and the overall feel you want doesn't lend itself well. I think you are torn between looks and a feel. A counter top in the bath, unless you have ten feet of it? Is actually the least noticeable element. A bath floor and the shower walls followed by vanity and above vanity details are FAR more noticeable, and in your face. Pick ONE star of the show, and you don't need over design to feel traditional.

Personally? I don't like Taj in a bath - it's harder by far to pair with tiles. I LOVE it in a kitchen. jmho
