You should be able to do cabinets right to the ceiling but of course you need to know if the ceilings are level you 36” to top of counters. 18” for space between uppers and counters and 36” for the uppers = 90” Since you have the 30” and soffits it should be quite easy to see if the soffits are the same height everywhere or if they are made to fit the uneven ceiling. Could you post some pics of your space and also a to scale floor plan also are you planning wall cabinets everywhere ? I sometimes eliminate wall cabinets and do true pullout pantries and fridge on one wall and no uppers at all.

You will want to do a discreet investigation into the soffits to see if there is venting or pipes hidden in there before you rip it all out. It could be expensive to reroute that infrastructure....

@chiefy, do you have anymore info in those cabs? We also have low ceilings and I’ve always wanted the smaller glass cabinets along the ceiling like those. Didn’t think it was possible to make it work with our dimensions though. This is intriguing!

@Delightedin Denver i’ll have to check. It’s my neighbor‘s house (and the inspiration for my upcoming project!). It’s one door with just glass on the upper part, not a true stacked cabinet.
