White oak flooring. On site staining first engineered

We are going to be building a custom home very soon. I would like white oak flooring.I feel like I want solid hardwood flooring but when I went to a local flooring company they were really pushing engineered. I also want the 7 inch planks which they mentioned may have an issue with cupping in the future.
My husband has now talked to someone who suggested
Long leaf pine flooring. He was told the wide pine planks don’t cup like the oak would. I really would love feedback from personal experience. Thank you.

If you want the wide plank, you MUST HAVE the right temperature AND humidity control. You will need to upgrade your HVAC system to include humidity control. If you live in a hot/humid climate, you will have to have a whole-home DEhumidifier. If you live in a cold/dry climate you will need a whole-home HUMidifier. If you live in an area with BOTH (cold/dry winters + hot/humid summers) you will need the top of the line whole-home humidifier/dehumidifier.

Purchase the upgrade. Make sure it is calculated properly for the size of the house.

The BIGGEST mistake people make is choosing the flooring/finishes without upgrading the climate controls. It leads to a whole mess of problems.
