Potted in a gallon plastic pot in off the shelf potting mix with perlite. It is outdoors. Gets 6+ hours sun

Not much fertilizer, perhaps once early this summer. I just added a few granules of ironite. Hopefully that helps.

It looks like an iron deficiency. Fertiliser should help, especially something like chelated iron.

It may very well be a nutrient deficiency of some sort but it is not chlorosis caused by lack of iron or magnesium. The leaves in the photo are showing yellow veins and darker interior tissue. Chlorosis due to lack of iron or magnesium presents in just the opposite pattern - dark green venation and pale or yellow interior tissue.

Plants being grown in containers need pretty frequent fertilization as nutrients get flushed out with every watering. The most common recommendation during the primary growing season is to fertilize at least weekly with a dilute solution (1/3-1/2 strength). Or weekly, weakly :-)

I suspect it is just showing an overall lack of adequate nutrition.

I agree -iron deficiency is in newer growth with the veins remaining darker. Magnesium deficiency is in older leaves but again the pattern is different. I have not fed it as much because it has been a slow grower but I guess I may have starved it. Thanks everyone.
