Can we beautify our weird garage?

Our garage is ugly and weird. We are about to embark on some serious landscaping but since our garage takes up most of the yard we want to spruce it up.
We considered Hardie Board siding but the price is a little steep and it doesn't address the main issues which are a weird flat roof without eves.
We also want to cap the windows and frame them out so it looks nicer. But how?
