The large chevron is too big for your space; how wide is your foyer?

The tiles are 12x12, so the space is roughly 8ft long by 6 ft wide. My wood planks are 3.25inch wide. Think the large chevron will look off?

I would consider 3 feet of tile just inside entry at least if you live anywhere with rain and/or snow. I replaced wood with tile when we renovated because we were always hopping around each other to find space to remove boots.

Beyond that, I think I'd just do a border of wood around the foyer, say two boards thick, and then fill in the rest with regular-direction boards. It will look sharp (especially if you stain those boards a bit darker or lighter than the rest) but it won't be nearly as busy as any of the herringbone solutions, which I think could be too much in this constrained space.
