Lois, what a beautiful view!

Unfortunately, we have smoky skies because of the Cameron Peak fire burning just west of our town. Ash is falling on everything. This picture was taken about 3pm - it isn't as smoky this morning so I will take my dog for a walk!

I am working on laying out a t-shirt quilt for my daughter-in-law. The pictures are so large on so many of the shirts. This is what I think I will go with, adding black to give it a stained glass look and small squares between to give some pops of color and balance out the squares. I have the fusible already added to the shirts, so I can still trim some of them down.

On the Grace facebook page a lady was asking for advice on quilting a t shirt quilt. It's going to be 110" square (!!!) and be double-sided because her nephew had so many shirts to use. I told my hubby that quilt's going to weigh about a hundred pounds! I wish her luck with the quilting!

On Labor Day weekend I started a quilt called Block Party by Primitive Pieces. It has sixteen 12-inch blocks and assorted other pieces. I spent the entire month of Sept on the 16 blocks, which each have 73 pieces! In case you're wondering, that's 1168 pieces total! A lot of the pieces were 1-1/2" squares and 1-1/2" x 5 strips. After getting that far I decided to put it away and go back to my cross stitch. I finally finished the cross stitch and I'm now working on about 10 miles of backstitching. I'm determined to finish this thing some day!

That's it, Bev! Except mine is a Caribbean block party with bright colors. My plan is to decorate the houses with things like thatched roofs, fishing poles, surfboards, etc. and use it as a wall hanging. I even came up with street names that I may add.

Did I see on the retreat thread that your daughter has shingles? I hope she recovers quickly!

Bev, good thoughts going your daughter’s way. I had shingles a number of years ago. Not fun!

I don’t know where the days go. I don’t seem to have much ‘staying power’, and not much gets accomplished. I have not touched the sewing machine except to make four pillowcases, a few more masks and that is it. I, too, have been cross stitching. It is a birth announcement for the latest great granddaughter. I started at the end of June and I am still at It. But in my defence, it is rather large and Complicated. Back stitching can be tedious Donna. And your quilt is a beauty. I admire your ’bravery’ in tackling something with tiny pieces.

The window washer will be here this morning, And I have an eye exam this afternoon. That will finish me for the day.

Our Canadian Thanksgiving is Monday. I don’t think any of the nearest children will be home, they are still sticking close to home as are we. So, do I really want to cook a turkey and all that goes with it??? Maybe we will order a pizza😃😃.

Love seeing your shared photos and reading about what you've been up to. I'm another Minnesota folk, more specifically northern MN near beautiful Lake Superior, although I'm about 4-5 miles inland as the hawks fly. In fact I live just north of hawks ridge. Been busy with garden, yard work, trying to can/free etc. tomatoes as they ripen. Garden has been put to bed for the year after digging and potting my parsley and cleaning out plants. Had a long weekend (Thurs-Monday) over in UP MI at Sylvania Wilderness camping with paddling friends. No paddling for Addie and me but maybe next year. Addie's never been in a canoe except on land as I tried to train her to get in and out and to sit. Lots of treats involved. Here's a little collage of some aspects of my life.
