Wandering Stitchers check in

I have arrived home and the car is unloaded. Nothing but the cooler is unpacked yet, but no hurry. Drove through some patches of heavy fog and many little showers. Stopped once for gas and lottery tickets. Hope everyone has a safe journey home.

Jackie brought me to Georgia this morning. Plan to set up the machine later on. :-) She took the scenic route and it was fantastic!

Had chicken salad with Doritos for supper last night. Having pepper steak with rice tonight. Thank you all for feeding me. Cookies for dessert. :-) Pimento cheese and crackers for snacks while watching the game. What more could a person want???? I'm blessed with good friends. Hugs......

Had oatmeal for brunch here at the motel this morning.....ok, they were cookies, but still oatmeal cookies!

Yesterday was sunny and not too cool, thought I'd walk around the plaza attached to the motel. So, with sweatpants on and a long sleeved blouse, room key in my pocket, slung my purse over my head/shoulders (in case I see something interesting) and grab my cane. Off I go starting down the sidewalk in front of the other rooms first. It was nice to smell fresh air without a mask on. I got full circle (actually horse shoe shaped) to the pizza restaurant across from the office and as I cross the parking lot to the sidewalk in front of the office and my room, guess who was standing at the bottom of the stairs and wanted to know where I'd been. "Where ya coming from?" There are spies everywhere keeping an eye on me. I told her I'd just walked around the plaza which she (daughter's friend - motel owner) seemed to think was ok. LOLOLOL It's nice to know there are people who care. God bless us all, every one.

You may have an adventure and they want to be part of it.

We are really just nosey people who want to be up in your business LOL

LOLOLOL Jackie!!! I have nothing to hide.......but I do lock the door! lol I figure she's reporting to Holly. She did tell me about the bolts of fabric I saw in one of the store windows. The shop looked like it was closed, but the lady a couple shops down keeps her fabric there.....she makes clothes. I had seen some people go in there so I kept on walking.

Beverly or Jackie, what size/thickness are your wool ironing mats and where did you purchase them? I am going to get one, but I want to make sure I get the right one. Thanks in advance ;-D

Mine is 14 x 24 and 1/2 inch thick. I think I got mine at Quilt In A Day when they had a big sale.

I just bought some from Love Sew. I got the 12x18 size. They have different sizes.

When I say ‘some’, I had a problem with the order page (my fault, not theirs) and so I ended up with three. Sent one off to my sister. And one for my daughter.

They do work well, don’t they?

I'm not home yet, so I'm still checking in. Now I'm at my daughter's cabin here in Georgia, with her and granddaughter. The other girls have a 10 hour drive and should arrive late afternoon. They have 3 drivers so they can trade off. My niece said they were leaving at Pain O'Clock this morning. Boiled peanuts are in the crock pot almost ready. Having lunch with one of DD's friends at a Cuban hole in the wall restaurant. I like those kinds of places.....using grandma's recipes. Have a good day, everyone. Hugs.....

Hope y'all have a wonderful weekend.

I am finally home.....nothing is unpacked except for the cheese I bought at the Amish store and the computer (wondering where the mouse is). I wish the unpacking fairy and the laundry fairy would show up. Not sure when I'll be able to sew again......maybe in a few days......sigh.

Glad you are home safe, Sharon. You had a very busy few weeks!

Had a wonderful two weeks. Was concerned about not being able to attend retreat next year because of a family wedding in Sept, but learned we're not invited. lol It's ok.......Grandniece is having a small destination wedding so we're off the hook. They plan on having two receptions later on......one in our hometown and one that's more convenient for his family and friends. Whatever the bride wants is what she should get.....if she can afford it. lol ------ Going to have to catch up on a few naps I've missed.......sure wish I could go right to sewing and forego the unpacking thing............

So we will see you next year!
