Climber for arch, Rose will receive open bight light all summer, some direct sun but more indirect sun, in front of 30' tall photinia. North facing yard.

Bush Icebergs on left that are leggy but have some all summer.

These are considerations so far:

America (color, flower size, fragrance all good) So far leading the pack but fear it will grow too wide
and not sure of summer bloom in this location.

Madame Alfer Carriere- I seem to recall this doing well in part sun but thorny

Crepuscule (great color)

Sombreuil (my Houston plant did not bloom much in summer so iffy choice)

I planted Lady of the Mist on the other side of the arch to supplement the sparse blooming Felicia (she got canker as a young thing, so has never performed well)

Would really appreciate other suggestions do not want to start over again after this planting. Have just pulled out a large Climbing Pinkie. It was prolific in spring then stopped. I really thought it would begin summer blooming after it aged.... I waited and waited and waited.

Hopeful for a new rose for this difficult spot. From reading I am not alone trying to grow roses where another plant would give better performance. We rose lovers do try to push the boundaries, don't we?
