I'm in inland Pinellas where, luckily, it is so late in the storms season that most all of the deadwood in our neighborhood's mature trees has long been cleared out (by nature or by man).

It is this week of wet ground, I think, that will be the enemy. Last year it was a very tall Norfolk Island Pine that tipped over (on a car). It made me start noticing how very many very tall ones there are in St. Pete and the beaches. They must have been a popular go-to tree at some time... maybe started as Christmas trees.

Hi Irma. Glad you're safe. My mom has one of those Norfolk pines that came as a little holiday gift many years ago. There's one in my neighbor's backyard as well. Both are huge and would cost thousands to remove.

I think we dodged a bullet. The storm, while very fierce, was not as bad as forecasts were predicting - thank goodness! Flooding is the main problem, but there are warnings about more wind too.

A friend who lives at Sunset Beach had her apartment flooded ankle deep and said her and all her neighbors cars were flooded as well 😟

Hi Carol. Indeed we were lucky with Eta. Interesting about Sunset Beach flooding. I rented there on and off 1968-71 in a cabin on stilts on the beach.

We had no problems with Eta. Everything is still doing well. Sarasota County here. :)
