Are homemade French fries as good from an air fryer

I never tried home made fries, however I prefer air fry for the slight health benefits it offers over deep frying.

Air fryer, especially if used in the home. Deep fryers leave a disgusting smell and film that lingers for days.

They're very different things -- air fryers are essentially high heat convection ovens, so if you get one, get one that rotates or shakes the food automatically. Otherwise, you could just use a good convection oven.

I bought a used Actifry, and it really does make awesome fries with very little oil and no smell other than great french fry smell (but it is noisy). I also use it on other vegetables, and pieces of fresh fish fillets. I've heard it's also great for chicken wings yet, but I haven't tried it for meat yet.

Here, they retail for well over $200, and I don't know if I would be as happy if I'd paid that much, but for half price, I love it.

Deep fryers are great for holidays, I have a small bucket one I use for Christmas Eve, for fried calamari and shrimp, but I only use it once a year. I use my air fryer multiple times a week.

I have used both, prefer the airfyer. I gave our deep fryer away years ago. use the airfyer weekly, chicken wings are great, french fries, frozen or handmade, chicken breast, Turkey burgers, tater tots.Did up some Ribs as well, wasn't as impressed with the ribs, prefer to do ribs in my slow cooker. Air fryer was purchased at Costco, is the Ninja brand for 99.00/ in Canada.

I just donated my deep fryer a couple of weeks ago. I've had an air fryer for about a year, but hadn't used the deep fryer for a couple of years. It was too messy and used a ton of oil.

    1. "Having experimented with both, I've found the air fryer to be a game-changer. It offers that crispy finish with significantly less oil, making dishes a tad healthier. Plus, the cleanup is so much easier!"
    2. "While nothing can truly replicate the taste of deep-fried goodness, I've been pleasantly surprised by the results from my air fryer. It's a great balance between taste and health. Remember to preheat it for even better results!"
    3. "It really boils down to personal preference. Deep fryers give you that authentic, indulgent taste. But if you're looking for a healthier twist without compromising too much on the crunch, the air fryer is the way to go. I've made some delightful dishes with mine!"
