I love still life, too. This reminds me of one my grandmother had, so I love it. It’s lovely and has very soothing colors .... perfect for a guest room. My vote is keep it. :)

I like the painting you purchased. The details of the flowers and the colors are very pretty. For a still life it has a lot of movement. Those flowers seems to be alive and dancing. Try it with your needlework. What do you have to lose? If you like it but do not love it, when you see something else it is easy to replace.

Another here who loves it and finds it, not only comforting, but happy and welcoming as well.

The painting is signed by M Aaron. Low priced paintings with this signature are very abundant on the Internet with no artist information. Makes me wonder if it’s one of those Chinese villages that churns out paintings for sale in the west.

It doesn't sway me but who cares? What matters is how you like it in the space. It might sing in the room. The colours are pretty. On my screen, it looks like a print, not an original.

i was wondering that myself. The paint is very thinly applied in most spots but I do believe it is a painting (and not a 1/2 print 1/2 painting). There are quite a few ridges.

what color should I spray paint the frame? Hard to believe but it is a real wood frame.

Here is a winners print I have that’s the now-popular “print with some goo on top” style. Actually looks pretty good from a foot or two away.

Kincaid made a lot of money with his "factory" of paintings where staff artists produced the work and Kincaid would add a dab of paint to each one. Such a fraud.

Paint the frame matte/satin black (leave the inner molding gold) and pass it off as a 17th c Dutch still life!

Robo, I love that new painting! It doesn't remind me of hotel art at all, but it does remind me of the fresh bouquet they had in the entry of the Kensington Palace Thistle in London. <3 I wouldn't paint that frame! the crackle is fantastic. :)

I rather like it and not sure I would paint the frame. If you did, I might leave the inner moulding gold as suggested above.

I found two of the senior Aaron's paintings on liveauctioneers.com. One sold for $20 and one in a frame similar to yours sold for $100.
