I've had this table for 30 years. It was sold as "teak", but not sure about that. But I do love it as a solid piece of attractive furniture. It's made from a single piece of timber, 47" diameter. As you can see, it's somewhat worse for wear with surface water marks and others. (Ask my grandkids!)

I'm planning to restore it, and am quite capable of hand-sanding it back to a clean surface.

But what is the best way I can treat it then? I want to accentuate the grain and preserve the surface. Should I be looking at a stain, an oil, wax? And I'd like to give it a couple of final coats of polyurethane to keep it protected.

Would really appreciate advice from the experts!
