What a shame, cabinets should always start with a filler. I can’t tell in the photo but can you adjust all the hinges to the left to gain yourself enough clearance? Start with the problem door and then adjust toward the microwave.

do you need tile on the window wall? I think you're going to have to stop at the bottom of the cabinets and run it around that way. assuming that the door will open decently at all.

IMO, it is not worth the trouble and risk of damage to your nice looking cabinets. Stop at the bottom of the cabinets and save yourself a lot of trouble and possible added expense.

Thanks everyone. We figured out a good solution. We are going to relocate that cabinet to the opposite wall and add open barn wood shelves. It works with the overall design and solves the issue. Having that back wall tiled is key to the design, so I’m pretty happy with the solution!! Thanks for everyone’s input!

Is the cabinet to the left of the problem cabinet (that you are relocating) finished on the side, since it was not intended to be exposed?

Shannon LeMay - If your idea does not work, try shaving off a little on the back edge of the problem door. That, and possibly combining a slight adjustment of the hinges, may do the trick.

My daughter had something similar happen when the the upper drawer of her new base cabinet did not clear the dishwasher handle. Her contractor shaved off what he needed for clearance and then painted the edge with white paint. No one can tell it was done, but it did the trick.
