I'd suggest you read what you posted and see if you can add some clarity.

Is your home the one with the stone fireplace (bottom) or the one with the wood fireplace surround (top photo)?

IMO neither of those draperies is appropriate for the rooms. The first photo's drapery with the swags and fringe (yikes!) just makes the tall narrow room more tall and narrow.

The Country Curtains in the stone fireplace are just completely wrong for the room.

Here are photos of rooms with two story ceilings that have simple window treatment solutions.

Just because I like a challenge, this is what I think April Levin is asking:

I just purchased the two-storey drapes shown in the upper picture. My living room is the one in the lower picture, with the stone fireplace. Should I hang the drapes the same way in my living room or should I just use one outer panel?

Also, my living room has an additional window on the adjacent wall. Should I leave it without a drape? Or should I find something to match?

Did you buy the sheers too and if so do you need them for daytime privacy?

Do you need the drapes to draw so you can have night time privacy or block the sun, or are you OK just to have the drapes be decorative at the side and not draw over the window?

Same answers for all the windows?

Is this your furniture in the room? The fireplace is rustic and I assume you will not be changing it. Can you show us the bottom of the long side of the drapes so we can see if it is angled and/or fringed like the short side?

Are the drapes in 3 pieces, or is it one 3-part drape attached to a single rod?

Agree with @partim restatement of April Levin’s question. Looking at @BeverlyFLADeziner pics of 2 story window treatments, my suggestion is to use one panel only for each of the two windows on each side of fireplace. If the top swag is used, remove the fringe. The shorter 2 panels could be remade into a drape on a pole for the shorter window to right of fireplace. It looks like they are pretty long panels. The result is updated look, matching 3 windows, and likely really nice fabric for a pretty good price. I don’t know if the sheers are part of the deal but I wouldn’t use on these windows with thos stone fireplace - they’re too lightweight for the heavier stone. I don’t know about the Living room since we don’t have a picture
