Bosch clothes washer lost outer window in door, does it need one?

WFXD8400UC clothes washer. After 15 years of door hitting wall when opened, the tabs on the ring that hold it in place broke, and the outer window and ring came off. The washer seems to work fine without it. Did a google search and found no answers. Do I need to buy the new door, or am I okay running the washer with no outer glass and ring?

As the owner of a similar Bosch Nexxt Washer & Dryer I've seen many like this over the years and most ran as good as new. The outer plastic window is more cosmetic than anything else.

If it bugs you-you can contact Bosch directly for a replacement.
