don't even consider ordering tile now until the cabs and countertops are in. The lighting in your kitchen will have an effect on how everything looks.

get your samples ready and have them on hand.

If you like the Swanbridge, get it. There are plenty of other tiles similar to Cloe that you can choose.

Bedrosians has quite a few. go look at their backsplash tiles

Shadebrick-Light is a nice tile. leans a bit more white/gray. (they also have it in gray)

Thanks for your input! The second pic is similar to what I'm hoping I'll end up with. I'm still googling away trying to find photos of Cloe with a Swanbridge countertop. I really like the variation in Cloe and the pattern in Swanbridge.. just hoping they are not chaotic when placed beside each other.

@gmg I have Swanbridge and bought the White Cloe (not installed yet) — we have white cabinets and will be using Mapei’s Avalanche grout. I wanted something with more character than a plain white subway tile but felt like everything else was too busy or gray. I feel like using a bright white grout will help blend the tile as opposed to a colored grout which could emphasize variations — all personal preference of course.

Lillian, Avalanche is the whitest white on the market. You may want to use just the regular white, or even Warm Gray, since that Cloe white tile isn't a super bright white.

Lillian Teresa, thanks for your comment! I picked Cloe for exactly the same reasons. I’m doing bright white wall cabs and light grey base cabs (photo below). Although Cloe with light gray grout looks fabulous, I’m leaning towards white grout as well, largely because I am also building a tiled hood vent (similar to the one pictured below, from Chris Loves Julia). I feel like having a more visible grid of grout lines all over the hood might look too busy. I would love to see a photo of your tile and counter when it is done (if you’re comfortable posting it).

We are doing something similar in our new build but we wanted a 3" x 12" subway tile so are using Tencer gradient - very similar to Cloe but plays a bit better with taupe tones in our countertop (Caesarstone Cosmopolitan White). Our cabinets are semi-custom so are already painted (Medallion Sea Salt - a very bright white). We found it challenging to find light/white countertops and backsplash that wouldn't clash with those bright white cabinets. Our island is a gray-blue-teal with Cambria Montgomery quartz. Thinking walls will be SW Agreeable Gray- ceilings are 15 feet vaulted tongue and groove painted SW His Reflective White or Extra White, Really challenging to make these decisions with only drywall in place!

@jmjohn59 Gorgeous colors. That gray-blue-teal is wow. And yes, it is so challenging to have to make so many decisions when you can only ‘imagine’ what the outcome will be 😓😓

@gmg I will definitely post a picture when it’s done, I’m not sure when it’s supposed to get started though, I’m hoping soon after Easter.
