BEWARE OF LL FLOORING FORMERLY LUMBER LIQUIDATORS. THEY SAY LIFETIME WARRANTY ON THE INVOICE, AND 5 YEARS ON THEIR WEBSITE, BUT THEY DO NOT STAND BEHIND THEIR PRODUCTS. WE USED BOTH FLOORING AND GLUE PURCHASED THROUGH LL FLOORING AND THEIR INSTALLER. COME SEE THE FLOORING AT EASTGATE LIQUORS WILMINGTON. IT'S AN ACCIDENT WAITING TO HAPPEN. ALL THE TILES ARE "CUPPING". LL HAS TESTED OUR CEMENT SLAB BEFORE THE INSTALLATION AND AGAIN FEB. 2021. NO MOISTURE ISSUES, YET THE GLUE NEVER SET AND NOW THE ENTIRE FLOOR IS CURLING UP. OMAR from their "Installations Resolution Team " IS NO HELP AT ALL.

Yah...we all know about LL (Lumber Liquidators). I had thought the LL meant a shortening...but it it looks like they have officially had a name change.

Concrete is a tricky beast. You can test it today and it will change tomorrow. The AGE of the home dictates the level of caution to be used when gluing to concrete.

Please share a bit of your home's history. Is it built before or after 1990? What used to be on the concrete? What 'tile' did you use? What adhesive (name please) did you use?

What are the slab moisture readings NOW that the concrete has been 'capped'?

I'm the first one to point to LL as the BIG ISSUE but when it comes to concrete slabs, etc, I have learned to look deeper. The mechanics of old concrete slabs + capping = soggy flooring that is ruined. This happens regardless of the materials you use.

I'm assuming your slab is a snick older....which I hate doing. Please let us know A BIT more about your home build.

If the floor is cupping, that's a sign of potential moisture issues. If the glue truly hasn't cured, that could be a sign of bad adhesive (rather rare and unlikely) or slab moisture. What type of test was done? Inductive meter on the surface. Calcium chloride? In situ test like the Wagner RH? What exactly was the result?

What type of flooring? You say tiles but it's not clear. What type of adhesive.

A flooring inspector would ask all these questions in an attempt to discern what happened and suggest a path forward.

So the adhesive was LVT-Lock made by Bostik. This glue according to Bostik technical support has been modified and is now called LVT-Lock+, notice the PLUS. It curing time has been reduced. Also Bostik TS told me that LVT-Lock need oxygen to cure. The glue successfully used at our other 2 locations, Bostik VinylGrip90, adheres using pressure, again per Bostik Technical Support Dept. Below is the link for the floor tile. The installers on day 1, which we paid LL directly for, had a hard time with the glue curing. It took hours. Also this floor tile is tung and groove and very thick. Once it's put down, very little air if any is going to be able to help the glue continue to cure. Sorry is I was yelling. It's been over 1 year we've been dealing with this mess. John Lucci

Thanks. I understand your frustration. I'm mainly a wood floor guy and thought you had a wood floor. My comment about cupping refers to wood floor.

I imagine you called Bostik directly already. It would be unusual to have faulty adhesive. Since it's made in large batches, having a bad can or two would generally mean there's a lot more out there. The only exception I can think of is if the adhesive froze. I looked quickly at some of the technical documents but didn't see a freeze warning. I'll do some more reading and see if I can add anything helpful.
