I'm not a regular on this forum, so I have no idea where you live, or where this plant is growing, so I'm not sure if Euphorbias are hardy in your area. Nice pic!

That's what they look like to me also. If so a broken leaf should exude white latex.

Yes. Absolutely the Euphorbia.

Agree Euphorbia dulcis 'Chameleon' can be an aggressive seeder here but only in the vicinity of the original planting. I have never found seedlings spread across the garden and I am a fan of the dark foliage.

oh wow. Ive learned a new plant! I have euphorbia but Ive never seen a purple one. I have ascot rainbow and characias.

I am a lover of hardy euphorbias and have grown many but this one is banned from my garden! It just spreads too aggressively for my taste.....just a step behind E. cyparissias in its quest for garden domination :-)

Mamaham, if you can grow Ascot Rainbow and characias, look for Euphorbia 'Blackbird', 'Red Martin' or 'Ruby Glow'. All have purple or reddish coloring. And are much better behaved than Chameleon. For a hardier variety look for E. polychroma 'Bonfire'. Not purple all the time but a lot of very intense coloring all the same.

@gardengal - yes, looks like it is this euphorbia. Thanks! It does spread, but I don’t think too aggressively in my area. Just seedlings I see here and there which I will be pulling up hehehe

True, it is not at all aggressive here. Just stay on top of the occasional seedling in the wrong place. I have had it for maybe 20 years. Nothing in its original spot, a few plants spread out here and there. Even cyparissias is fine here, I find. Maybe also because I have heavy clay soil?

@gardengal48 (PNW Z8/9) if only I had the room! Limited sun spaces here. Previous owner planted the euphorbia and it’s quite happy. But I don’t have anywhere to put anymore sadly. My kids call them the dr Seuss plants! They look like they could be in those books 😂
