Ordering windows this week & can't decide on style

I'm about to order windows this week and am still a little on the fence about the style. My current slider windows are the original windows. I am leaning toward replacing them with the same style because of the vertical siding but like the ease of cleaning and better price with double-hungs. I would do casements except the lower windows are ground level.

I've done some mock-ups with both styles online but they just don't give me a good picture.

Would greatly appreciate input from anyone less design challenged than me!

Sliders in Bronze no question. You have a contemporary home.

No shutters on the lower level windows.

Thanks very much. And I already know what they'll look like!

BeverlyFLADeziner, I was going to keep the lower level as is (no shutters) but now that you mention it I'm not sure what those things are on the sides of the windows. I guess some sort of support? The lower level was block when it was built and the previous owners added the stucco over it. Funny, I've been here 25 years and never even thought about that before!

I am clueless if those could be supports. Unless you dig around them you'll never know.

I would select a bronze cylinder hanging light for over your door if there are no adjustments made to the entry.

Is it possible to add windows over your entrance?

I also like the appearance of a canopy over the door that is closer in height to the door.

BeverlyFLADeziner, I like your style! love the look in the last pic. That actually looks just like my entryway, even the color of the wood on the stairs. I have a contractor coming tomorrow. I'll ask him about that window idea. My door is the original although I stripped and redid it a couple of years ago. The light is also the original and really needs updated.

Thanks for the ideas. It's funny the things we get used to and don't think of changing!

Eliminating the shutters on the upper windows would be an improvement, in my opinion. Also, I like the suggestions made by BeverlyFLADeziner -- a window and canopy over the door.

Thanks nester44. I was thinking that myself. I've never seen my house without shutters but I think I'd like it. Another one of those things you never think of until someone with a better eye points it out!

So would a trim similar to

    this, instead of shutters, work?

I sure will, I just found out today I have a little more leeway on the time but since I got all of these great suggestions I'm going to go ahead and order within the week. It will be a relief to get to that point! Thanks everyone!
