ill leave to embo and gal.. all thing pnw.. but a native of tx and mexico.. just seems so wrong for the temperate pnw ... [and im sure gall will tell me they grow like weeds everywhere up there.. lol ..]

It looks like an anthracnose (fungus) infection. It spreads in cool, rainy weather, especially with rainwater splashing on the leaves, or overhead irrigation. Agaves can take quite a bit of additional watering when they are planted in sandy/gravely soil, but they don't like being showered with water and staying wet. Organic mulch is not your best choice here -- try gravel or crushed shells.

If you have a protected spot on a covered patio, you could dig up the plant, cut off the infected leaves, and move it to a wide, shallow container filled with succulent potting mix. Give it as much sun as possible, but don't let water splash on the leaves.
