Go for the blue

Is there a colour in an adjacent room that could be repeated? Not a fan of an intense blue in that space. Wall decals could be fun and give the room a lift without repainting the whole thing.

Add wood shelves and have blue accents and cabinets. On the wood wall, you could do a sign or stencil/paint Laundry in blue or make a wood sign if you are a diyer and paint it blue. The combination is great together. Another option is to paint the paneling in the blue, adding white and wood accents to it. Your floor may have a hard time competing, but there are lots of options like some of the inspiration pics here for you of the idea or to help you visualize how it could look.

I love the second picture! I actually considered putting a drying rack on the wall next to the bathroom door.

• I have light blue, indigo & camel brown throughout the first floor. I considered the lt. Blue, but wasn't sure if it would look like a baby's room.

I think a lighter shade of that lovely blue you used in your living room would look quite nice.

I would paint the blue just behind the appliances. You can add shelving and a picture like one of these prints from AllPoster.com to finish the space.

I say, go for it. Its paint, if you dont like it, repaint it. Laundry rooms should be a fun room, that you like to be in.

I think a green would go better with that floor and the wood accents than the blue. It might also remind you of the outdoors, which is nice when you're in the basement.
