I'd use it as a home office space, if you don't already have one. Put the desk on the wall below the round window and add some low shelving on the adjacent wall.

Thank you, I did think about adding a desk on the wall by the bedroom to take advantage of the view looking out the windows opposite the round one. Would you add seating by the stair rail?

Maybe a couple of small-scale reading chairs. Nothing too big or tall.

A lot depends on how you and your family live. I would go for the ideas above as I need a desk/working space. But it might make a rather charming little family games area, too, with a small table and four chairs, and shelves to hold the games.

Otherwise, hire a minstrel to sit up there with a lute. :-)

I do like the minstrel idea. My grandson wants it to be a game room, daughter thinks a desk area is the way to go, other daughter wants a lounge area for reading. The house is used by the family as an escape from the city, lots of outdoor activities here in the Texas hill country.

Sewing studio. But then that is what I would do with any space.

These are great, I am a visual person so have a hard time always seeing what to do with a space that has nothing in it but a large window, I didn't even think about lighting and the Manhattan photo really gets me inspired. Thank you.
