plant the trunk straight.. forget about the rest ...

life isnt a disney drawing ... if you look at tree as you drive around.. very few actually hve a straight single leader.. the taller they are ..

if you have a warranty.. do whatever the seller tell you to do ... so if he wants a stake.. leave it there .. and keep in mind.... the stake is so the root ball doenst wobble around.. so the roots can get into native soil ... in this case it has nothing to do with how straight what you see is ...

is this a replacement for the failure laying on the ground in the first pic??

Thanks Ken. The one on the ground is the wrong tree that the nursery planted when we were not home, they had to come back and plant the correct tree.

Do you feel that the trunk is straight enough the way it is currently planted? It had that little bend at the bottom, but the main trunk appears straight, right?

Once the trunk gets to 6" caliper, that little 'kink' won't be hardly noticeable.
