Hi, was wondering if anyone could chime in who has owned Neolith polished countertops for a while (a year) or so..

I am very interested in using the Calacatta gold for my kitchen reno but the quotes I am getting are astronomical.

There is a 111” wide island by 55” deep
2x counters that are 48” wide by 26” deep
A full backsplash and the range hood cladding

Quotes are at roughly $30,000 which by my math is $225ish a square foot. I understand there is a lot of work to be done with all the mitres to give the island that 3” thick look aswell as doing the range hood but before I spend $30,000 on countertops I’d like to find some actual reviews of long term owners of the product.

And for those who have thought about using the product but haven’t.. what did you end up going with?

The reason I am looking into Neolith is first because the range hood will be cladded and quartz is heavy for one.. doesn’t really have a bookmatched option for 2 and limits if I want to cook with gas and open flame near the backsplash. Also.. one side of the islands waterfall is directly infront of an 8 foot wide glass patio door that gets full sun all day.

I’ve been told the sun would yellow the quartz?

Make sure your fabricator follows Roberto Colonatti's fabrication and installation manual, no matter what Neolith says please.

Engineered stone can be subject to UV degradation.

I have found what I think is a reputable installer who has installed quite a bit of porcelain and Neolith countertops. He told me the polished finish definitely can scratch a lot easier then the quartz countertops I have here.

My question is.. can a product like tuffskin be installed over top of Neolith to help with the scratches? The island is 10’x5’ and will be the heart of the main floor. It will definitely be used and ate at. Etc.. I’d like to not worry if a plate or ceramic coffee cup will scratch it easily.
