Alcohol evaporates thoroughly, and quite a bit faster even than water. It's GONE. I am reminded of the worry by someone storing flour that the dry can they were putting it in was once wet.

Um, they had high proof alcohol in them and they were sanitized AFTER they were emptied? Why? I guess they were worried about some drunk bacteria.

It should be noted, by the way, that small amounts of alcohol won't hurt plants. Anaerobic composting involves some fermentation, and you can distill the dregs from compost and get alcohol out of it. Yep, there is some alcohol in compost.

used to live in metro detroit.. right across the river from Canadian club ...

barrels were always available... in the local nurseries ... nice buz when you first broke them open.. lol ...

the problem i had was there wasnt enough head pressure.. for the water to run out very fast ... it sure couldnt work with a soaker hose ...

i ended up buying an aquarium pump.. and circulating the water ... and had 10 cent feeder fish it it for a few year .. as long as the water was moving on the top.. air got into the water ... those darn fish ended up 6 inches long ...

i also put a spigot on the side.. and half barrel below .. and lo and behold.. i ended up with babes .. once they could flow out of the tank where mom and dad ate them ... but then i needed a second pump to pump that water back into the bigger barrel ...

in other words.. it ended up a wonderful hobby. ... and of little use in collecting and using rain water.. lol ..
